Serial No. OOO 07-003  Sitka - Peruvian Walnut
Back
Construction begins with the bending
of the sides.
Rim completed.
I found a special piece of walnut
crotch wood that had a very
nice pattern to it.
It makes a nice headstock
overlay.
This is a Martin factory built dreadnought top
that I acquired from a friend.  He had gotten it for
a warranty repair but ended up not using it.  It
had sat on the self for a number of years and
needed a new home.  I have modified it to a
triple O shape and will put it to use.
A neck refinishing accident required
the neck to be painted.  I will most
likely make a new neck for this one
later.
After pulling it apart and finalizing
the finish, it is all back together and
strung up for the first time.  It
sounds pretty nice and can't wait to
get it opened up.
The finished walnut crotch wood
peghead overlay.
The black tuners contrast well
with head stock.
That's a wrap.
Turn up the sound to hear this
instrument being played.
Fitting the sides to the mold.
"So much wood, so little time."
Hanging until the lacquer dries.  The
finish is then hand sanded and buffed
out by hand
